Born and raised in San Francisco and residing in Sacramento since 1997. Elizabeth attended University of Phoenix and completed a Master of Management degree program in 2006. Elizabeth is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Organization and Management.
James F. Thrasher, Ed.D. (Elk Grove, California) - HHEW '10
Dr. James F. Thrasher is the former Assistant Executive Director, Human Rights/Community Outreach Department of the California Teachers Association (CTA). His duties centered around assisting CTA members and the children of California’s public schools to work through equity issues that arose. Dr. Thrasher is now retired and an emeritus staff of CTA. Jim received his undergraduate degree from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio; his Masters degree from California State University-Stanislaus in Turlock; and his doctorate from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. He has received many professional accolades (1983, 1997, 2004, 2006 and 2009). Jim has dedicated his life to children and education in the belief that those that are the neediest of us should receive the most from us.
Lenny Kweku Torsu, MBA (England, United Kingdom) - HHEW '13
Mr. Torsu specializes in private and public sector procurement contracts and projects underpinned with a strong knowledge and understandings in managing complex supply chain issues and projects, and EU procurement regulations. Extensive 15-year experience in procurement activities and in supply chain strategies involving bidding, evaluation, reviews and audits of contract terms and conditions for works, goods and services; good procurement capacity building assessment skills, resulting in the development of procurement strategies to fit organizational strategic objectives. Technically knowledgeable and skilled in drafting contractual terms and conditions, designing and implementing materials management systems, managing hands-on end-to-end procurement, developing policies and procedures and mapping, analyzing and selecting stakeholders; extensive knowledge in FIDIC’s Turnkey/EPC/IBRD/UN/EU Procurement Regulations and or Directives, the Ghana Procurement Reforms, Ghana Public Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663). Strong organizational, negotiation and leadership skills; valuable coaching experience from training post: process and solutions-oriented during crises situations. Effective communication, social intelligence and stress management skills; can communicate in French.
