HHEW 2014 - Tuesday, May 27th. If you were KOH, what would you do?
URGENT NOTE TO REPLY TO IMMEDIATELY. THANK YOU
If you were KOH, what would you do?
I hope your Memorial Day Weekend celebration was blessed. At this last minute, would you cancel our annual conference for the first time after 10 consecutive ones or would you take this to the HHEW members? After speaking with members of the conference planning committee and the branding committee, we have decided on the following path in order for the 2014 conference to be successful:
We are asking each HHEW member not attending the conference to make a $100 donation (or more if possible) to the conference by this Monday, June 1st. There are at least 30 members not attending, so these donations would cover the balance needed. We have already collected approximately $2,000 from registration fees, however, attendance and donations are lower than usual this year. Your donation, needed by the 1st, will also include your next year's HHEW membership dues, so you will be taking care of two important issues. If you cannot donate the full $100, we are asking that you cover your $69 membership dues today (Tuesday, May 27) via PayPal. This will also help.
You can make your contribution via PayPal on your computer or smartphone in 5 minutes @

(Those attending are also welcome to contribute under the same positive conditions.)
This request is also in keeping with everyone's commitment to keeping the organization relevant, not only as a think tank, but as a “Do Tank”. This is also consistent with how members of other organizations contribute to programs and projects. In addition, everyone knows, like clockwork, that our annual conference & retreat takes place at this time each year.
We are also proposing to the fiscal affairs & development committee that each year by December 31, each member make a $100 contribution toward the conference, whether attending or not. This money will immediately be used to help cover the upcoming conference. This will allow us to pay all major conference expenses in full 6 months in advance! This would also mean that we will not be placed in this last-minute situation again.
In the future (beginning after this year's conference), those making their annual $100 contribution will also have the option of adding to their annual $100 amount (making their total sum their conference registration fees). Again, this will be discussed at this year's conference & retreat.
I truly believe that everyone reading this will contribute. Thanks, KOH. Feel free to email, call or text me privately @ (209) 403-6356, if you have any questions.
